You have said the prayer and meant it. You asked for forgiveness, He has forgiven you. You have asked Jesus Christ to come into your life, He is here, now. You have declared Him your Saviour and your Lord, He has heard your prayer and answered it. YOU are a child of God!
Read what scripture says, " Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. " 2 Cor. 5:17 You are now at the start of a new life.
God's Word is essential for spiritual growth just as food is for physical growth. You need to read the Bible every day. It is God's word to us, and when we read it, God speaks to us through it.
Prayer is essential to spiritual growth just as breath is to physical growth. Talk to Jesus Christ naturally, the same as you would to a close friend, but also be respectful of who Jesus is. Spend time each day in prayer.
The church is essential to spiritual growth just as the home is to a baby's growth. You need to find a local church, so that you may be with other Christians. They will help you to grow stronger, and answer questions that you may have.
